Abstract

Pendidikan adalah suatu usaha atau kegiatan yang dijalankan dengan sengaja, teratur dan berencana dengan maksud mengubah atau mengembangkan perilaku yang diinginkan. Sekolah sebagai lembaga formal merupakan sarana dalam rangka pencapaian tujuan pendidikan tersebut. Hasil dari proses belajar tersebut tercermin dalam prestasi belajarnya. Namun dalam upaya meraih prestasi belajar yang memuaskan dibutuhkan proses belajar.
Untuk mewujudkan proses dan hasil belajar siswa yang berkualitas sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat serta tuntutan kurikulum, maka peranan guru sangat penting. Dalam kegiatan belajar-mengajar tugas guru adalah sebagai penentu, pelaksana, dan sebagai penilai keberhasilan belajar siswa. Dalam proses pembelajaran ditemukan proses belajar yang dilakukan oleh siswa merupakan kunci keberhasilan belajar siswa. Hasil belajar sebagai satu produk dari proses belajar mengajar bukanlah hasil dari satu proses tunggal, tetapi merupakan bagian dari interaksi sejumlah faktor-faktor keberhasilan belajar yang dapat bersumber dari dalam diri siswa (faktor internal) ataupun dari luar diri siswa (faktor eksternal). Selain guru, faktor mendukung keberhasilan belajar siswa termasuk juga motivasi belajar. Motivasi belajar sesunghnya menjadi faktor penting dalam aktivitas dan keberhasilan belajar siswa. Jadi dalam pembelajaran peran motivasi adalah efektif pada siswa belajar. Dengan motivasi siswa akan berusaha melakukan tugas apapun dan mencapai tujuan. Peningkatan motivasi berarti kecepatan kerja dalam melakukan segalanya untuk mencapai tujuan.
